AIM for Seva is delighted to present Om Namo Narayanaya (Agre Pasyami), an enthralling classical dance ballet on Narayaniyam of Bhattatiri. “Agre Pasyami” translates to “as I see in front of me,” which is an exposition of Bhattatiri’s experience with Sri Krishna. This production features over 15 dancers presenting the birth of this famed work and describes Kurma, Varaha, Nrisimha, Rama and Krishna avatāras.

With dance movements in Bharatanatyam, Mohiniyāttam and Krishnāttam Kali, the costumes promise to be a visual treat. The music has been set in over 40 ragas with over 10 musicians of high repute contributing. Besides Sanskrit, lyrics in Malayalam, Tamizh, Kannada, Telugu and Marathi have been chosen from over 11 classical poets and preceptors. In short, this production aims to transport the rasikas to the abode of Guruvayur itself.

Sri Sai Shravanam

SOUNDSCAPE DESIGN

Sri Sai Shravanam is an Indian music producer, recording and scoring engineer, and musician. He is a self-trained tabla player and one of the few classically trained sound engineers in the country. He is the owner and founder of Resound India in the city of Chennai.

As a child music prodigy and ardent devotee of Sathya Sai Baba, Sai showed signs of great talent from the early age of 6. While watching a TV commercial for tea featuring tabla wizard Ustad Zakir Hussain creating magical notes, Sai imprinted those notes in his mind. The impact of it was so profound that his parents got him his first tabla set. Four years later, he was spotted by maestro Zakir Hussain. Early percussion lessons from Zakir and his brother Fazal Qureshi showcased his talent and got him the opportunity to work in various cross-cultural and experimental music endeavors with composers and artists.

Since 2004, Sai has been an active musician, sound engineer and producer for various film projects, classical music albums, documentary films, and dance theatre productions. He has arranged the Indian score elements and recorded the Indian music for the “The Man who Knew Infinity,” a Hollywood biopic on legendary Indian mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan. His versatility earned him commendable recognition as a sound recordist/additional engineer for the Academy Award winning film “Life of Pi.”

Through your generous donations, children of impoverished rural India are being given the nurturing, education and support necessary for realizing their full potential – and being empowered for lifelong success. Please make your gift today and help us continue to transform rural India, one child at a time.
